Hong Kong – The premier channel for classical music, opera, ballet and jazz joins SingtelTV’s line-up of channels and looks to wow Singapore audiences.

Parent company Lagardère Active and Asia representative Lightning International announced a new major carriage agreement which was concluded at the recent Asia-Pacific Pay-TV Operators Summit. The deal will see Mezzo Live HD become accessible in the Family Starter Pack to all SingtelTV subscribers.

This marks the first agreement for Mezzo Live HD in Singapore and a major step in the channel’s development in Asia-Pacific.

Jean-René Aucouturier, SVP, Business Development, Lagardère Active TV, declared, “We are thrilled to bring Mezzo Live HD to audiences in the city-state. There is a clear appetite for classical music in Singapore, and our diverse yet uncompromising programming will no doubt appeal to beginners and seasoned music lovers alike. Mezzo Live HD features the best classical and jazz concerts with 100% of content in HD and over 80% self-produced from the most prestigious international venues like Paris’ Opera, London’s Covent Garden, Milan’s Scala or Moscow’s Bolshoi.

The channel will be ramping up its efforts to showcase more localised content in 2015 with new content partnerships in the works in Australia, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
