After delighting more than 130 countries around the world, the global phenomenon Brazil Avenue is coming to Thailand. The hit show, which is Globo’s licensing record holder, has just been licensed to Media Plex, a cable channel with a profile aimed at female audiences. It is the first time for the channel to show a Globo telenovela. Brazil Avenue will be dubbed into Thai and is set to debut in the 5.30pm timeslot. The telenovela has already won over Asian audiences when it was licensed to two channels in Mongolia, both part of the group Mongol Mass Media LLC.
Dynamic and modern, Brazil Avenue has already been licensed to all the countries of Latin America, as well as countries in Europe, other countries in Asia, and also in the United States. The telenovela has such power that this year, it has debuted again on the Azteca Trece, one of the most important channels in Mexico, in the 11pm timeslot, and in prime time on Telemundo, one of the main channels targeted for the U.S. Hispanic Market.
With the rhythm of a suspense thriller, sharp dialogues, and impeccable settings, Brazil Avenue deals with the revenge of young Nina (Débora Falabella, The Clone) on her stepmother Carminha (Adriana Esteves, Belíssima). With classic ingredients of successful stories, the telenovela enraptured audiences in Brazil with an average of 42 rating points and a 69% share (Source: Ibope). And in 2013, it was nominated for the International Emmy for Best Telenovela.
