Washington, D.C. and New York – XiveTV (pronounced “zive”) announced its expansion to the Roku streaming platform. Hot on the heels of its launch in February as the first-to-market mobile and streaming documentary network, XiveTV now counts Roku players and Roku TV models as part of a growing list of digital distribution platforms and services that feature its content, including Hulu, YouTube, Amazon Instant Video, and iOS and Android mobile apps.

As stated by Lifehacker, “Reality TV and dramas get tiresome. Sometimes you want a little something smarter to watch, and that’s where XiveTV comes in.”

The XiveTV channel provides Roku customers with unique, thought-provoking content that embodies XiveTV’s promise to deliver “smart entertainment for the passionate and curious.” With more than two thousand hours of award-winning factual programs, XiveTV is organized into easily searchable areas of interest, such as history, science, wildlife, adventure and more. New programmes are released every week.
“The breadth of available streaming entertainment is what sets the Roku platform apart from the competition and drives engagement among our customers,” said Ed Lee, vice president of content at Roku. “XiveTV provides an enormous selection of high-quality documentary programming across a number of interest areas that we’re certain our customers will enjoy.”
In joining Roku’s U.S. channel lineup, XiveTV joins the largest selection of streaming channels available on any streaming platform, with more than 2,000 channels in the Roku Channel Store, and more than 250,000 movies and television episodes.

“Roku has a highly-engaged and fast-growing audience, and has excelled at simplifying TV viewing for consumers who want easy access to quality content,” said Greg Diefenbach, co-founder, XiveTV. “Through our expansion to the Roku platform, we’re able to bring XiveTV to millions of curious viewers who want smart, factual entertainment across all of their screens.”

Roku customers can download the XiveTV channel from the Roku Channel Store on Roku players and Roku TV models.
