Israelis can get ready for a plot full of intrigue, jealousy, romance, and revenge. The exciting telenovela Trail of Lies, a hit in Brazil and around the world, premieres in April on channel VIVA, from Israel. The pay-TV channel, which broadcasts only Latin telenovelas, has been a partner of Globo for years and has also acquired the rights to broadcast Brazil Avenue and Looks & Essence.

Set in the rich and effervescent city of São Paulo, Trail of Lies won the Brazilian audience with its strong storyline and comic characters. The plot averaged ratings of 36 points and a 61% share in Globo’s prime time. The ending chapter scored 48 rating points and a share of 75% (Source: Ibope).

In Portugal, the telenovela was broadcast by SIC and ranked among the top 10 most watched TV shows in the country. The title has already been licensed for countries such as Poland (ITVN), Armenia (Public TV), USA (MundoFox), Mozambique (Soico), Colombia (RCN), Argentina (Telefe), and Mexico (Azteca), among others.

Written by Walcyr Carrasco, author of hits such as Gabriela and The Thorn and the Rose, Trail of Lies tells the story of Paloma (Paolla Oliveira, Irrational Heart) a willful woman whose newborn baby is kidnapped by her own brother, Félix (Mateus Solano, Seize the Day), who plans to become the sole heir to his family’s fortune. The plot also revolves around Bruno (Malvino Salvador, Looks & Essence), an honest man who, on the same night he lost his wife and son, miraculously finds Paloma’s child abandoned in a dumpster. Fate will cross their paths in a story filled with secrets, revelations, and conflicts, with unpredictable consequences of lives spun over a dangerous and startling web of lies.
