London/Johannesburg – A+E Networks® UK has acquired the award-winning U.S. scripted series, Blue, starring Julia Stiles, exclusively for Lifetime® in the UK and Africa.

The original series will premiere in spring 2015 in the UK.

Announcing the acquisition, Koulla Anastasi, Director of Programming for Lifetime, said, “Blue is a compelling and captivating drama that will enhance our programming schedule on Lifetime in both the UK and Africa.”

The hit series also stars Eric Stoltz (The Butterfly Effect, Caprica) and Kathleen Quinlan (Apollo 13) and is written and directed by WIGS co-founder Rodrigo Garcia (In Treatment, Albert Nobbs). It is co-written by Karen Graci (In Treatment, Albert Nobbs), executive produced by Jon Avnet (Black Swan, Risky Business) and distributed internationally by FremantleMedia International.

Blue has already won a number of awards in the U.S. including Best Directing (Drama) and Best Female Performance in a Drama at the 2014 International Academy of Web Television Awards. The series was also nominated for the Excellence in Production Design Award at the 2014 Art Directors Guild.
