Global Agency’s groundbreaking drama series 1001 Nights hits a high note across Latin America. After the huge success in Chile (Mega) and Colombia (Caracol), the series premiered on channel El Trece (Argentina) on 5 January. The results helped the channel to become the leader on the prime time slot. In 2015 the series will premiere in Brazil (Bandeirantes), Peru (Frecuencia Latina), Uruguay (Saeta), Bolivia (Unitel) and U.S. Hispanic (Mundofox).
Originally titled Binbir Gece, the series aired daily for three seasons on Turkey’s Kanal D between 2006 and 2009. 1001 Nights is one of the highest-rated Turkish exports, broadcasting in more than 55 countries, primarily in Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East, North Africa and Latin American countries.
Izzet Pinto, CEO of Global Agency, said, “After six years trying to enter the region, we are now very successful in Latin America, where our hit drama series 1001 Nights is engaging audiences across the continent. It first started to air on Mega Chile for four days a week in a prime time slot from Sunday through Wednesday. It became an immediate leader in the prime time ratings and became the most successful foreign series in the history of the country. This opened other markets in Latin America and now, we are very happy to announce that 1001 Nights has moved into Argentina, Brazil and Peru after Chile, Uruguay, Colombia and US Hispanic. As Global Agency, we are very proud to be able to open the market for Turkish series.”
