Singapore – The Southeast Asian Audio-Visual Association (SAAVA) and the Global Creative and Media Agency (GCMA), have embarked on an exciting collaboration to help media companies from around Southeast Asia explore new growth opportunities.
The cooperation between SAAVA, an alliance of creative producers from around Southeast Asia, and GCMA, the leading media public relations, marketing and consultancy company in the region, is a timely marriage of strengths to capitalise on the fast growing interest from the international market in Southeast Asia.
Adam Ham, Executive Director of GCMA, explained, “I am proud to reiterate that a cooperation between the two most forward looking private regional initiatives – SAAVA and GCMA is very timely for the industry when the West is now aggressively looking towards Southeast Asia as an attractive & conducive ecosystem as a production hub. Through the cooperation, we will enrich, strengthen and encourage more Southeast Asia media companies to explore new efficient ways to achieve meaningful breakthroughs and reach the pinnacle in being recognised as a reliable and competitive source of content production, co-production, funding and content acquisition.”
GCMA and SAAVA will be providing their expertise and network to media companies and professionals, to promote the co-creation of intellectual properties, encourage more regional co-investments and co-productions, attract investments into media infrastructure, facilitate exchange of skills and best practices, and enable better distribution of regionally produced content within Southeast Asia and outside of the region.
Chan Gin Kai, Co-Founder and Director of SAAVA, elaborated, “There is so much talent and potential in the media professionals and companies in Southeast Asia. For us to meet and even exceed the demands of this rapidly evolving landscape, we need to look at how we can collaborate, and help each other grow. Our region has the ability to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the best in the world. This exciting new cooperation between GCMA and SAAVA provides the assistance and expertise that individuals and companies can tap on to venture outside of their countries and seize the myriad of opportunities that our region offers. It is about helping our members fulfill their potential through fruitful partnerships with our neighbours.”
GCMA will offer free advisory services for SAAVA members seeking collaborations with Malaysian companies and the countries media authorities. Malaysian companies can also tap on SAAVA’s network to expand into the region.
Two other partnership deals were also penned with the Australian-based Pozible, the world’s third largest crowd-funding portal and with the Motion Picture Association of Cambodia (MPAC) to assist members with alternative avenues of financing and marketing as well as to bridge links between ASEAN and rest of the Asia-Pacific.
