Singapore – HBO Asia bagged twelve awards at the 2014 PromaxBDA Asia Awards held at The Arts House in Singapore on 4 December 2014. The network bagged six gold awards for Best In House Station Image, Best Drama Promo, Best Sound Design, Best Sales & Marketing Presentation, Best Public Service Announcement and Best Animation, and six silver trophies for Best Drama Campaign, Best Script, Best Editing, Best Sting, Best Print Ad and Best Print Campaign.

The PromaxBDA Asia Awards is the only competition of its kind to honour the finest work in television promotion, marketing and design in Asia. It showcased outstanding creative work from the region and recognised all the talents behind the work.

Lead storyboard artist for the HBO Original Series Game of Thrones, William Simpson was a speaker at the PromaxBDA Asia Conference. The international renowned comic, TV and movie storyboard artist spoke about his experiences, inspirations and what it is like to be involved in one of televisions’ most loved series on 4 December. The conference attracted 340 media attendees including producers, designers, promoters and broadcasters from the region.

Simpson contributed to the conceptual designs for the White Walkers, dragons, direwolves and the three-eyed raven in the hit HBO series and was in involved in storyboarding feature films including Your Highness, City of Ember, Unknown and Reign of Fire. He also worked on a range of comic character icons including Vamps, Aliens, Batman, Hellblazer, Transformers, Judge Dredd and Rogue Trooper.

HBO Asia also won six awards at the 2014 PromaxBDA Promotion, Marketing and Design Global Excellence Awards held in Los Angeles on 12 June.
