AFC premieres “Amazing Food Challenge: Fun in the Philippines 2”

November 25, 2014 by TVA Editor

Singapore – Asian Food Channel, a unit of Scripps Networks Interactive, the producer of engaging lifestyle content, will premiere the second season of its hit travel and culinary reality show, Amazing Food Challenge: Fun in the Philippines beginning 27 November. The programme will air at 9pm every Thursday starting from 27 November to 19 February 2015 on StarHub TV, Channel 435.

Produced in collaboration with the Philippine Department of Tourism (DOT) and the Tourism Promotions Board Philippines (TPB), Amazing Food Challenge: Fun in the Philippines returns with a fresh batch of contestants from across Asia Pacific who will battle it out for USD$50,000 worth of cash and prizes.

Under the watchful eye of program host and celebrity cook Sherson Lian, resident judge

Chef Laudico and a guest judge from each of the five Philippine regions they will visit, contestants will tackle gruelling physical and culinary challenges. Look forward to races through markets, mazes and rivers, where contestants will have to out-smart, out-run and out-cook one another. In each nail-biting episode, one contestant will be eliminated until only three remain to compete for the grand prize of USD$30,000 and a three day two night travel package to the Philippines.

“The first season of Amazing Food Challenge: Fun in the Philippines was extremely successful and series two promises to offer even more fun, excitement and mouth-watering adventures,” said Derek Chang, Managing Director of Scripps Networks Interactive, Asia-Pacific. “I would like to thank the Philippine Department of Tourism and the Tourism Promotions Board Philippines for their hospitality, and I am pleased to be partnering with them for their Visit Philippines 2015 campaign. Producing compelling local content is a key focus of our programming strategy this year, and I look forward to growing our relationship into even more fruitful opportunities in the future.”

Domingo Ramon C. Enerio III, Chief Operating Officer of Tourism Promotions Board Philippines said, “We are thrilled to be working with Asian Food Channel and are excited for the second season premiere. This season showcases five new regions of the Philippines from its sizzling street food in metropolitan cities to fresh seafood and beautiful unspoiled lagoons. The contestants will experience a vast array of what the Philippines has to offer and we are happy to share the great wonders of the Philippines with all of AFC’s viewers.”

Catch the premiere of Asian Food Channel’s Amazing Food Challenge: Fun in the Philippines 2 on Thursday, 27 November, 9pm, StarHub TV, Channel 435.
