Zodiak Media has appointed Nathan Gibbs to fill the newly created position of Group Head of Format Acquisitions.
This appointment follows Grant Ross joining Zodiak Media this summer in the new role of EVP Global Creative Development and Format Acquisitions, a move that marked the company’s ambition in global formats.
Gibbs joins Zodiak Media from Endemol Australia where he has held various Head of Development and Executive Producer roles for the last seven years working on a host of top formats such as; Deal or No Deal; Big Brother; Wipeout; Beauty & the Geek; Undercover Boss; The Real Hustle; The Money Drop; I vs 100 and Make Me a Supermodel. Prior to this Gibbs has held positions across international development and format production at Fox World International (Fox TV Studios) and Seven Network (Australia).
He has also acquired many third party titles for Endemol Australia such as; Survivor; Babes on the Bus; The Extra Mile; Balls of Steel and Don’t Tell the Bride.

Gibbs will be responsible for acquiring worldwide rights to third party formats to be distributed by Zodiak’s international distribution arm Zodiak Rights. As well as aggressively pursuing third party formats for and in-conjunction with the local production companies in the Zodiak Media footprint. He will start with immediate effect and report into Ross.
Ross, EVP Global Creative Development and Format Acquistions, said, “As our production companies continue to grow in their local markets, broadcasters are looking to them to provide more and more content. We’re accelerating our internal creativity to respond to this, and Nathan will help us do the same with regards to third party format acquisitions.”
