This will be the second year of the Japan Content Showcase – a joint market of Tokyo International Music Market (TIMM) – TIFFCOM Marketplace for Film & TV in Asia and Tokyo International Animation Festival (TIAF). Japan Content Showcase 2014 will be held at Grand Pacific Le Daiba in Odaiba.
Following are the seminars related to Asia and the speakers are coming from around the world. TIFFCOM 2014 (Japan Content Showcase 2014) will be held from 21 – 23 October at Grand Pacific Le Daiba in Tokyo.

Southeast Asian Visual Contents: The Present and Future in Film-TV Market

The vibrant energy of Southeast Asia is now a spotlight but what kinds of movies and TV shows are making a hit there? Are movies and TV shows from around the world, including Japan, among them? This year, The Japan Foundation Asia Center launched an initiative called “Film Culture Exchange Projects” in collaboration with UNIJAPAN. We will conduct various exchange programs until year 2020, the year of the Tokyo Olympic/Paralympics.
In part of this project, we will invite 30 professionals from Asean film-distribution companies and TV stations to TIFFCOM this year. In this seminar, 5 selected panelists will discuss about the current situation and future outlook of the film-TV market in Southeast Asia.
Asia Content Business Summit
Initiatives for the Development of Content Industry in Each Country and the Asian Region: Possible Cooperation in the Asian Region

This session will give an overview of the content industry-related international opportunities in the Asian region. First, presenters will introduce some cases of international collaborative activities (such as co-production) to consider issues/ problems and solutions /KFSs. After that, panelists will discuss ways of future cooperation in order to develop content industry in the region.
Inspiring Japanese Film Artists working in Asia: Taiwan

In the midst of shrinking Japanese film and entertainment markets, going international has become more viable than ever before. The last few years in particular have witnessed notable collaborations between Japan and Taiwan, such as the Taiwanese film Kano starring the Japanese actors Masatoshi Nagase and Takao Ohsawa, and the Taiwanese TV drama Chocolat starring Masami Nagasawa. More productions featuring Japanese actors are currently in development.
Sharing the language of Mainland China (Mandarin), Taiwan provides a gate to the Chinese market of 1.4 billion people. We will discuss the latest trends of Taiwan, where bigger budget films featuring well-known Japanese actors will be made in coming years. We will also welcome the producer of The Crossing directed by John Woo. The producer will talk about his journey as a budding Japanese producer working overseas.

This seminar aims to provide quick understanding of the current Japanese TV industry and guide you how to build a bridge to work with Japan. Welcoming 5 internationally experienced Japanese TV experts and producers as a panel, they will share their experiences of collaborating with foreign productions in various cases and exchanging ideas across borders.
Introducing India-Japan animation business case study and aiming for collaboration

This project aims to support and deepen Japan-India relationship in animation industry by examining and discussing several aspects such as production and broadcasting system in India, merchandising and Japan-India co-production.
