Tokyo, Japan – CONTENT TOKYO 2014 (http://www.contents-tokyo.jp/en/) was held at Tokyo Big Sight, Japan from July 2 to 4, organised by Reed Exhibitions Japan Ltd.
The show is Asia’s leading comprehensive content industry tradeshow composed of 4 specialised independent shows – LICENSING JAPAN (http://www.licensing-japan.jp/en/), Creators’ Expo (http://www.creator-expo.jp/), Production Companies Expo (http://www.production-expo.jp/en/) and Content Solutions Expo (http://www.contes.jp/en/) – all held under one roof.

Initially, the show started as a zone within the concurrent show – Tokyo International Book Fair (http://www.bookfair.jp/en/) but has grew and evolved to the current 4 specialised shows. Together with the concurrent shows, CONTENT TOKYO this year gathered 50,208 visitors, 1,526 exhibitors, 5,146 conference attendees and 479 press visitors from across Japan, Asia and the world. The overall show size has expanded by around 30% in comparison to the previous edition.
As the name of the exhibitions suggest, each of the 4 shows covered different stages of content creation.
At Creators’ Expo, individual creators (illustrators, designers, writers, photographers game creators etc.) took part to sell their creativity and techniques to publishers, advertising companies, PR/marketing product planning divisions of firms. Production Companies Expo and Content Solutions Expo gathered users and coordinators of such talent. LICENSING JAPAN was the hub for licensers to sell characters and brands to content users.
By just walking around the show ground, participants were able to find various ideas, products, technologies and solutions of content creation from the downstream to upstream.

I am glad I visited and look forward to what the future brings to the industry.” Content solutions Expo Press, Japan
“As I am shy and find it hard to aggressively reach out to publishers, I find this show suits my style. I have had many publishers and potential business partners come to my booth so it’s been a brilliant experience. Just exhibiting at my booth has opened up opportunities to bring a lot of surprising and unexpected meetings. As there are so many publishers and content industry professionals already present at the concurrent shows, next time I hope to spend more time walking around the shows to make further connections.” Creators’ Expo Exhibitor, Illustrator
Keisuke Amano, Show Director of CONTENT TOKYO is confident about the turnout of the show and expects the show to expand further. “First of all, a very big thank you for those who were involved in CONTENT TOKYO 2014. It was a very successful edition. The show is really starting to generate business as a comprehensive content tradeshow with cross-networking between the visitors and exhibitors of all the shows. I hope CONTENT TOKYO will be able to keep bringing successful business to all participants and become recognised even more as “the” show to find opportunities with content industry professionals in Japan and Asia.”
As though to reflect the success of the 2014 edition of CONTENT TOKYO, the exhibit space for next year has been selling very well and the majority of the space has already been occupied.
The next edition of CONTENT TOKYO will be held next year at Tokyo Big Sight, Japan from July 1 to 3, 2015.
