Seoul, Korea – CJ E&M is bringing K-Pop’s hottest stars to reality TV. This past month, the company’s music channel Mnet launched Mnet xoxo, EXO featuring an inside look at the daily lives of hit boy band EXO. Starting June 3, the company’s style channel OnStyle will begin airing Jessica & Krystal, a reality show featuring sisters Jessica Jung from Girls’ Generation and Krystal Jung from f(x).
In designing these reality shows, CJ E&M has taken into account the unique personalities of the K-Pop stars. Jessica & Krystal will highlight the close bond between the sisters as well as their stylish daily lives. Specifically, the show will offer a chance to peek into the style of Jessica and Krystal, who are widely adored as fashion icons. In the first episode, the sisters will begin residing in a chic modern house in central Seoul showing their daily lives living together.

On Mnet xoxo, EXO, the show highlights the K-Pop boy band’s lives as the hottest global performers today. Preparing for their new album release, the show follows EXO to China and Japan, as well as within Korea. With just two years having passed since the group’s formation, the EXO members show how excited they are to hold their first solo event in Japan by practicing simple Japanese conversations on the plane ride over. In addition, Mnet xoxo, EXO provides a behind-the-scenes look into the making of the music video of EXO’s recent album title song.
CJ E&M’s foray into reality TV featuring K-Pop stars goes back to 2008 when Mnet caused a sensation with Off the Rec, Hyolee, starring Lee Hyo-lee, a member of first generation K-Pop girl group Fin.K.L. Adapting a closed-circuit television like approach, the show disclosed the regular daily life of Lee Hyo-lee, a bold and fresh approach for Korean TV at the time. Follow the show’s success, Mnet produced various other reality shows with popular artists like Big Bang, 2NE1, and Rain. Earlier this year, Mnet launched Five Minutes before the Zaniness Begins starring Block-B, broadcast on TV as well as online with live interaction with fans via SNS.
CJ E&M operates 18 specialised channels including Mnet (music), OnStyle (style), tvN (general entertainment), and O’live (food lifestyle). On OnStyle, Jessica & Krystal begins airing on June 3 at 11pm (KST) (10 x 60’ every Tuesday at 11pm). On Mnet, Mnet xoxo, EXO wrapped up last week.
