The international television producer and distributor behind high profile brands such as American Pickers and the expanding Property Brothers franchise, has promoted its Director of Development, Andy McEntee, to the role of Vice President of Development.
Based in the company’s Los Angeles office and reporting to Brandon Killion, EVP of Programming and Development North America, McEntee will help lead creative development of unscripted programming for American and Canadian broadcasters. Before joining Cineflix, Andy served as producer on multiple reality series including Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, The Millionaire Matchmaker, Losing It With Jillian Michaels, and More To Love. His promotion reflects the company’s ongoing strategy to build its North American development hubs in Los Angeles, New York, and Toronto.
Killion said: “Andy’s been a tremendous asset to the company since the launch of the L.A. office. We are thrilled to have him in his new role and excited to continue expanding our slate of brand new content.”
The announcement comes as Cineflix launches two new series on U.S. networks:
Last Seen Alive (6 x 60’), which premiered June 1 on Investigation Discovery, charts the emotional and action-packed journeys of 12 families-turned-detectives as they chase down leads, interview potential witnesses, and travel cross-country in the hope of reuniting with their recently missing relatives. The Executive Producers for Cineflix are Charles Tremayne, Kim Bondi, and Sherri Rufh; and Eugenie Vink for Investigation Discovery. Jeff Vanderwal is Series Producer.
Red Hot Design (7 x 60’), for the new cable network FYI, follows Shasta Smith – the queen of “upscaling”. Shasta is chief designer, welder, creator, and entrepreneur of a successful Californian furniture and artworks shop. Together with her crew she takes unusual and unique materials and transforms them into amazing upscale pieces of furniture and artwork for demanding clients. Mark Poertner is Executive Producer and Mary Swanhaus is co-Executive Producer. Executive Producers for FYI are Gena McCarthy and Toby Faulkner.
Cineflix will also be launching new seasons for two of its successful crime brands on Investigation Discovery. Murder In Paradise (season 2, 6 x 60′) depicts stories of how idyllic trips in paradise turned deadly and the compelling investigations that follow. Surviving Evil (season 2, 10 x 60′), hosted by Charisma Carpenter, presents the real-life stories of how victims of violence fought back against their attackers and survived.
