Singapore – This May, Lifetime will be bringing to audiences a new groundbreaking series, Resurrection, premiering on May 12. The eight episode series premiered in the United States to soaring ratings, garnering 13.3 million viewers for its opening episode and earning it the title of the season’s most-watched regular time slot drama, edging out The Blacklist and The Walking Dead.

What if someone you lost…returned? The premise of the series revolves around the people of Arcadia, Missouri, whose lives are forever changed when their deceased loved ones suddenly start to return. An eight-year-old American boy wakes up alone in a rice paddy in a rural Chinese province with no idea how he got there. Details start to emerge when the boy, who calls himself Jacob, recalls that his hometown is Arcadia and an immigration agent, Martin Bellamy, takes him there. Upon returning to his home, the town and its people are forever changed, for Jacob died over 30 years, and in Resurrection, he is but the first.
Kurtwood Smith stars as Henry Langston, who is the father of Jacob, the son he thought dead. Prior to Resurrection, Smith spent eight seasons playing the hugely popular Red Foreman on That 70’s Show. He has made many memorable appearances in television series and on the big screen that include The X-Files, Star Trek: Voyager, Academy-Award winners Dead Poets Society and Girl, Interrupted; as well as the memorable role of Clarence Boddicker inRobocop, among others.
Playing Agent Bellamy is Omar Epps, who starred in the powerhouse hit medical drama,House, for eight seasons for which he received an NAACP Image Award for “Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series” in 2007 and 2008. Epps was also nominated for an NAACP Image Award for “Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series” in 2005 as well as “Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series” in 2006, 2009 and again in 2012.
Resurrection premieres on Lifetime (StarHub TV Ch 514), May 12, Mondays at 10pm.
