Foxtel Australia acquires crime and lifestyle content from Cineflix Rights

May 26, 2014 by TVA Editor

Cineflix Rights, one of the UK’s independent television content distributors, has signed a deal with Foxtel Australia which sees the broadcaster acquiring more than 250 hours of crime and lifestyle content from Cineflix Productions and third-party producers in the distributor’s catalogue.

Amongst the crime series included in the deal are Murder in Paradise (season 2, 6 x 60’, Cineflix Productions), Last Seen Alive (6 x 60’, Cineflix Productions), Obsession: Dark Desires(10 x 60’, October Films), Surviving Evil (season 2, 10 x 60’, Cineflix Productions), Unusual Suspects (seasons 1, 5 and 6, 39 x 60’, LMNO Productions), and Cold Blood (seasons 2 and 3, 36 x 60’, Cineflix Productions).

Lifestyle programming included from Cineflix’s home and design catalogue are long-running successes Property Brothers (seasons 1, 2 and 4, 65 x 60’, Cineflix Productions), and Buying & Selling (seasons 1 and 2, 39 x 60’, Cineflix Productions).

The deal was negotiated by Chris Bluett, VP Sales, Asia Pacific and Benelux at Cineflix Rights and Jim Buchan, General Manager of Factual Channels at Foxtel.

Chris Bonney, CEO Rights, Cineflix Media said: “Australia is a key market for Cineflix Rights and we’re really pleased to be continuing our long-running relationship with such a great partner as Foxtel through this latest deal. The number of hours in the deal demonstrates the strength of our catalogue, particularly in the crime and lifestyle genres which are proving so successful for broadcasters in all territories. ”
