Munich – Sky Deutschland has inked a deal with Red Arrow International whereby Sky Deutschland will come on board as co-producer, marking the broadcaster’s first co-production. The agreement will provide Sky Deutschland with all exclusive pay and free TV rights in German-speaking countries via all platforms including distribution via mobile and on-demand services.
Starring Dominic Monaghan and Michael Nyqvist, 100 Code starts filming in May. Created and directed by Academy Award winner Bobby Moresco (Crash, Million Dollar Baby, The Black Donnellys), 100 Code has been developed by Red Arrow Entertainment’s LA-based scripted arm, Fabrik Entertainment (The Killing) and is produced by 100 Code AB and Zen Productions (The Bible Code). Joakim Hansson, Klaus Zimmermann as well as Fabrik Entertainment’s Henrik Bastin and Mikkel Bondesen will serve as executive producers along with Moresco.
Bobby Moresco said: “100 Code may be the most exciting thing I’ve ever worked on. And to be doing it with partners like Henrik, Joakim, Red Arrow and Sky Deutschland is a dream project for any writer.”
Gary Davey, Executive Vice President Programming at Sky Deutschland said: “We think 100 Code is a great project for Sky with an outstanding team of professionals on both sides of the camera. The project delivers great writing with a strong story and will build on our position of leadership in quality series.”
Jens Richter, Managing Director at Red Arrow International said: “100 Code is edgy scandicrime at its best — and at a time when the genre is on everyone’s radar, now is the perfect time for Sky Deutschland to get onboard. We are thrilled that as part of one of the largest global broadcasting brands, Sky Deutschland has chosen 100 Code to be its first co-production.”
Set between Stockholm and New York, 100 Code follows New York detective Conley and Swedish detective Eklund in a grueling and prolific murder investigation. A complex network of ruthless murderers is revealed as the pair comes closer to discovering who is pulling the strings behind the killings.
