Kuala Lumpur – Reed MIDEM, organiser of professional, international tradeshows, has come to an agreement to cooperate with Global Creative Media Agency (GCMA), Malaysia to jointly create prominence and growth in the ASEAN region. GCMA has been appointed to be their regional representative office for ASEAN, serving Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines and Brunei. Malaysia will be the 41st international representative office of Reed and one of the Asian representative offices, after Korea, Japan and India.
GCMA, a media entertainment specialist, is a well-established professional regional PR and marketing consultancy agency. The agency, led by Adam Ham, a media entertainment ambassador of Malaysia, has been actively engaging with Malaysian and regional private and public sectors with the interest to leverage growth of its regional presence and visibility beyond ASEAN over the past decade.
With GCMA’s knowledge, experience and network, the company has steadily made its presence felt prominently through planning, developing, as well as the execution of various national and regional PR and communications strategies for the media entertainment industry. This includes animation, TV, film, games, mobile content, post-production, music and digital media. Its strong alignment with the industry players, in association with the local and regional high-powered government organisations and associations, has placed GCMA as an important strategic player within the region. In the past 3 years, GCMA has coordinated more than 50 international trade missions for the region, and is currently representing more than 20 major media players as a PR & marketing agency.

The ASEAN region has some of the highest potential of growth in the creative content industry, taking advantage of its low costs of production, government incentives and high population to attract investment and development throughout the region. Reed MIDEM released the following statement: “We at Reed are excited about growing our presence in the ASEAN region and we are confident of GCMA’s ability to reach out to the creative content community to increase the region’s presence internationally.”
GCMA will have access to more than 4,000 international buyers and 8,000 media players around the globe to organise new partnerships and business collaborations within the region; with the objective to develop ASEAN as the most attractive and productive media hub of the world by 2020. Regional industry players based in Southeast Asia will now be able to rely on GCMA, as the regional representative office of Reed Midem based in Kuala Lumpur, to strengthen and expand their businesses abroad through Reed Midem’s international markets based in Cannes, France.
“The role of GCMA is to act as an intermediary body to grow the South East Asian and ASEAN media and entertainment industry. With this partnership GCMA has the opportunity and resources to truly promote the advantages that the region has to offer on a worldwide scale,” said Adam Ham, CEO of GCMA.
