Both AirAsia Berhad’s Head of Commercial Kenny Wong and Astro’s Vice President of Media Sales Kenneth Teo launched the Now Everyone Can Fly with AirAsia programme at a media get-together held at Bangsar Village 2.
Kenny Wong from AirAsia Berhad commented, “The AirAsia-Astro partnership sees two leading home-grown brands with a global outreach in a strategic collaboration to bring TV viewers in Malaysia the best of AirAsia’s travel experiences at these 26 destinations. Research tells us that TV viewers on Astro’s platform are more likely to have higher disposable income, and as such, also have a higher propensity to travel. Thus AirAsia is delighted to work together with Astro on these 26 exciting travelogue episodes.”
“The first episode to air will be on Malaysia Day, and we are glad to be able to feature Kota Kinabalu, one of our hubs & popular destination in East Malaysia for viewers to discover. AirAsia is proud to be the bridge that brings both parts of Malaysia closer to each other with our widest network between Peninsular & East Malaysia. This commitment will remain strong and is proven through the launch of our new route from Kota Kinabalu – Kota Bahru as well. Among the 26 destinations featured are Banda Aceh, Makassar, Lombok and Nanning, which are routes that are exclusively served by AirAsia and we are proud to be able to showcase the uniqueness of these destinations to Astro’s viewers,” added Kenny Wong.
Kenneth Teo from Astro said, “We are excited to be working with AirAsia again to showcase many domestic and international travel destinations in these travelogues on the Astro platform. According to the recent 3D Malaysia premium research, about 70% of Astro subscribers come from mid to high household income homes. As such, it is no surprise that Astro viewers are 2 times more likely to travel in the past 12 months compared to free-to-air viewers. More importantly, more than 25% of Astro viewers intend to travel in the next 12 months! The travelogues will serve not only to promote AirAsia destinations but will provide a quick guide to all the key attractions.”
