Tel Aviv, Israel – Keshet International, the global distribution and production arm of Keshet Media Group, announced that it will be distributing Keshet’s live singing competition Rising Star at MIPCOM in October. Keshet International will be offering format rights internationally in all territories.
“We are eager to introduce this cutting-edge, second screen integrated show to the international market and to pioneer a new, immersive format that has the potential to be a worldwide hit,” said Alon Shtruzman, Managing Director of Keshet International. “Rising Star’s revolutionary voting app marks an end to the era of text messages and call-in voting and pushes innovative boundaries. For the first time in television, digital is a fully integrated and inseparable element of the show that allows the audience to take the reins and have an immediate impact on the outcome of each episode and the entire season.”
Keshet Broadcasting and Tedy Productions created the format, which will launch in Israel as Hacochav Haba this fall on Keshet Channel 2. The show has already garnered much anticipation and excitement. Mako, Keshet’s new media arm, developed the revolutionary Rising Star app, which will be available for free on the MakoTV app.
Rising Star was developed after Keshet aired ten successful seasons of its talent competition A Star is Born, and will join Keshet International’s slate of shows such as Master Class, the children’s talent show that is the highest-rated talent show in Israel.
