Q: What are your pre-L.A. Screenings objectives?
A: Each year we look forward to the L.A. Screenings with much anticipation as it is the most important event we share with our clients from around the world. Right now, we are focused on our pilots. We’ve invested in front of and behind the cameras to ensure that we have the most compelling, captivating and commercially viable programming out there.
Beyond that we are looking at all of the L.A. Screenings details and preparations to ensure our clients are inspired and entertained while in town and ultimately compelled to continue partnering with Sony Pictures Television to bring our great stories to their audiences.
Q: Which territories in Asia are of importance to Sony?
A: Each country is unique, so all are important to us for different reasons. We have six offices around the region because we believe that being present and having the local pulse allows us to be proactive, recommending and ultimately servicing all our clients.
Q: Which genres do you foresee will do well and why?
A: The diversity of the region is such that there is an audience for all genres. I imagine that family-friendly programming, action, legal and medical dramas will continue to command buyers’ attention. In the end, however, I believe that people are attracted to compelling stories over any specific genre. We’ll have to wait and see at L.A. Screenings which series will be the ones our buyers leave talking about.
