Eyeworks New Zealand, an independent TV and Film production company in New Zealand, has announced its newly appointed management following the departure of former CEO Julie Christie from the company last year.
Ashley Coupland has been appointed as the new MD of Eyeworks New Zealand. Meanwhile, Greg Heathcote will be returning to Eyeworks New Zealand and will work alongside Coupland as the Co-MD. Before joining Eyeworks, Coupland worked as General Manager at Cream TV and as a freelance executive producer for both TVNZ and TV3. Greg Heathcote was the former Head of Television at Eyeworks New Zealand and is returning after a year away managing the Food TV channel and the Living Channel.
In addition, Bailey Mackey has been appointed as the new Creative Director and will complement the management team of Eyeworks New Zealand. Former CEO Julie Christie will no longer work for Eyeworks New Zealand but she will remain connected to the Eyeworks Group (15 territories, HQ Amsterdam) working in an international creative role.
Reinout Oerlemans, CEO and founder of Eyeworks, said, “First of all, I want to thank Julie Christie for what she did for Eyeworks New Zealand. Back in 2006 Julie was one of the first entrepreneurs that shared our ambition to build a tight knit web of creative production companies all over the world. Now in 2013 we have strong companies in 15 territories on four continents. I am happy Julie will stay connected to Eyeworks International as a creative developer. I strongly believe our future in New Zealand looks bright. With Ashley, Greg and Bailey we have an experienced, ambitious and well balanced team in place to strengthen our position in New Zealand even further.”
