StarHub rebrands digital music platform as Music Anywhere

Singapore – StarHub has re-launched its three-year-old online music store as “Music Anywhere”, to coincide with the expansion of its digital music offerings in collaboration with KKBOX, a leading provider of digital music subscription services in Asia.

A key feature of StarHub’s revamped online music store is KKBOX’s music streaming service. Available from next month, Music Anywhere will offer users convenient access to KKBOX’s extensive catalogue of songs – over 10 million of them from 500 international and local music labels – across their computers and mobile devices, anytime and anywhere.

StarHub will offer users an immersive entertainment experience, from catching up on celebrity news and watching music-related content on-the-go with Music Anywhere, to getting a chance to attend music concerts and meet-and-greet sessions with popular artistes. With Music Anywhere, they can continue to buy Connecting Tones or DRM-free music tracks as a full song or ringtone directly on their mobile handset. They can also download a full song or an entire music album on their computer.

Lin Shu Fen, Vice President of Home Solutions, StarHub, tells TV ASIA Plus that the company decided to partner with KKBOX because of its wide catalogue of Asian offering and unique features. “Our focus for the year is on growing our business by collaborating with strategic partners who are market leaders in their respective industries, such as KKBOX. These collaborations allow us to pool together expertise, skills and resources with partners to create win-win business models as well as bring benefits to our consumers speedily.”

Founded in Taiwan, KKBOX offers features such as “Listen With”, an interactive social networking platform for music fans to chat with other listeners, celebrities and DJs; and “Rolling Lyrics”, which turns users’ handset into a mobile jukebox, displaying lyrics that scroll according to the rhythm and tempo of the song for the ultimate karaoke experience.
