Global TV site Viki has announced a deal with NBCUniversal (NBCU) to bring hundreds of hours of the broadcaster’s content to viewers in Southeast Asia.
Hit reality shows like Keeping up with the Kardashians, popular dramas Law & Order and Friday Night Lights, cult Sci Fi shows like Battlestar Galatica, comedy-drama series Lipstick Jungle and classic cartoons like Woody Woodpecker has been available since Friday, February 1, in Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
The shows are available to most viewers in Southeast Asia and can be accessed on Viki.com, the Viki mobile app, selected local partner sites and through local telco partners.
Southeast Asia continues to be an area of core growth for Viki, where 20% of its 20 million viewers a month are from the region. This announcement comes on the heels of the company’s announcement last week with Amazon to bring Asian content to Prime Instant in the U.S.
