Paris – Leading names from the much anticipated Netflix commission, House of Cards, have been confirmed to attend MIPCOM with international distributor for the series, Sony Pictures Television. Attending the market will be Academy Award-nominated writer Beau Willimon (The Ides of March) and on-screen stars, Academy Award-winning actor Kevin Spacey (American Beauty) and Golden Globe nominee Robin Wright (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo).
From Academy Award-nominated director, David Fincher (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Social Network), House of Cards is a wicked one-hour drama from Media Rights Capital that slithers behind the curtain of power, sex, ambition, love, greed and corruption in modern Washington D.C. Netflix has ordered two 13-episode seasons, with the first season to premiere in 2013.
House of Cards is executive produced by David Fincher, Joshua Donen, Eric Roth, Beau Willimon, Kevin Spacey, Dana Brunetti, Andrew Davies, Michael Dobbs and John Melfi. Based on the BBC miniseries of the same name, this one-hour drama is produced by Donen/Fincher/Roth and Trigger Street Productions, Inc. in association with Media Rights Capital for Netflix.
