New York/ London – A+E Networks and A+E Networks UK have greenlit the UK production of HISTORY’s blockbuster series Pawn Stars.

Leftfield Pictures, producers of Pawn Stars, will produce Pawn Stars UK (working title), the first international format of the hit franchise.  International HISTORY channels are also funding the project.

“We’re excited that Leftfield Pictures will be producing this new, original version of HISTORY’s most successful global brand,” said Christian Murphy, SVP, International Programming and Marketing. “This commission establishes a new model whereby HISTORY channels around the world will own this phenomenal franchise extension.” 

Slated to begin production in Q4 2012, the UK commission (8 x 60’) will contain the same elements that have made Pawn Stars a success in the US, but will be uniquely adapted for an international audience.   Leftfield Pictures will work closely with UK series producers to maintain the show’s authenticity and humor, while still integrating all of the real information that has made the US version so compelling to audiences.  Pawn Stars UK (wt) will feature distinctly British items with rich, historical heritage.
