Singapore / Mumbai – Sony Pictures Television Networks, Asia has appointed Sunil Punjabi as Business Head, India, Networks, Asia, Sony Pictures Television (SPT). Based in the company’s Mumbai office, Punjabi will lead its local team in all business functions for SPT Networks, Asia’s channels in India including AXN and Animax.

Punjabi will report to Ricky Ow, Executive Vice President and General Manager, Networks, Asia, Sony Pictures Television, who is based in the company’s regional office in Singapore.

In addition to the day-to-day management of AXN and Animax in India, Punjabi is charged with driving marketing strategies to grow the channel brands and to pursue further distribution opportunities. He will develop business opportunities and also lead the team in developing strategy for new channels as well as oversee the development, acquisition and production of content for SPT Networks, Asia’s channels in the region.

Punjabi will also work closely with Sony Pictures Entertainment’s subsidiary company, Multi Screen Media Pvt. Ltd. (MSM), which oversees advertising sales and distribution for AXN and Animax in India.

Punjabi brings 12 years of experience in the Indian media and entertainment industry across key business functions including ad sales, marketing, theatrical exhibition and business development.
