Ten Alps companies have received three nominations at the British Academy Television Awards 2012.
9/11: Day That Changed The World is nominated in the Single Documentary category. The documentary marked the tenth anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. It goes behind the scenes combining television footage and first-hand accounts of how events unfolded in the offices, the bunkers, the military headquarters and on Air Force One.
The Truth About Adoption (Panorama) is nominated in the Current Affairs category. Films of Record followed six children in Coventry waiting to be adopted over 6 months. Some have waited five years. Others were returned after 3 years with a prospective family. This film is the first to address adoption breakdown.
Clare Johns, Producer/Director at Films of Record, has been nominated for the Break-Through Talent category at the British Academy Television Craft Awards for her work on The Truth About Adoption.
The Television Awards celebrate the very best TV broadcast on British screens across the year. The Awards ceremony takes place on May 27 at the Royal Festival Hall.
