Shine Australia has appointed Rory Callaghan to the newly created role of Executive Director. Callaghan, who previously held the title of Chief Executive Officer at Southern Star, will commence his position later this year.

Reporting to President Shine Network & CEO Shine Australia – Mark Fennessy and Managing Director – Matt Campbell, he will be responsible for the growing catalogue of all Shine Group formats in Australia and New Zealand, in addition to those of Zodiak and Talpa where Shine is the local partner. He will also focus on the strategic roll out of new and emerging content streams including scripted content.

As CEO of Southern Star, Callaghan oversaw major growth in Southern Star’s drama output with shows like Offspring, Rush, Puberty Blues and Paper Giants. He consolidated Southern Stars’ non-scripted output with the continued success of Deal Or No Deal, and reality franchises Beauty and the Geek and Undercover Boss.
