Sony Pictures Television’s networks, Asia, and Sony Pictures Entertainment Japan’s AXN Mystery Channel, are collaborating with Charis Entertainment (Hong Kong), to co-produce a new unscripted series, Cyril’s Family Vacation. This series, targeted at both Japanese and the wider Asian audiences, follows on from AXN’s 2009 original production Cyril: Simply Magic, which was seen by more than 11 million viewers across Asia. According to Kantar Media in Singapore, and AGB Nielsen in Malaysia and Taiwan, the show propelled AXN to become the number one English Pay-TV channel during its run in the three territories. Cyril’s Family Vacation will again be headlined by Japan’s top illusionist Cyril Takayama. Filmed exclusively in Hawaii, he will be performing in real-life situations while holidaying with his “family” on the island. The show begins production at the start of 2012 and will air in mid-2012.
