London – HBO Asia has acquired the crime thriller Thorne, from Content Television, a division of Content Media Corporation. This latest deal takes the total number of territories licensing the drama to more than 145. The series will be available first and exclusively in the region on HBO Asia’s network of channels in 2012. Magdalene Ew, Senior Vice President, Marketing, Creative and Content, HBO Asia, said the drama franchise adds to HBO’s diverse content offerings. Based on the bestselling novels by Mark Billingham, Thorne revolves around Detective Inspector Tom Thorne, a complex and compelling character, scarred both inside and out by the cases of his past, whose headstrong investigations have won him few friends within the force.
