Singapore hosts 20th public broadcasters’ conference

Top public broadcasters from all over the world will meet in Singapore for the 20th Public Broadcasters International (PBI) 2011 from 26 to 29 October 2011, which MediaCorp will host. This year’s conference will cover funding issues, strategies to navigate the digital age, the impact of new media, the digital switchover and the role of public broadcasters in extreme situations such as earthquakes and other natural disasters. Held at Resorts World Sentosa this year, Paula A. Kerger, President and Chief Executive Officer of Public Broadcast Service (USA), will be delivering the keynote speech. PBI was set-up in 1990 as a gathering of broadcasters to collectively share experiences, solutions and best practices in the wake of the challenges faced by the industry.
