Paris – The number of participants, buyers, programmes and projects expected have risen significantly for the 2011 edition of MIPJunior, the international showcase for children and youth programmes that runs ahead of MIPCOM from 1 October to 2 October. This year’s event has surpassed the 1,000 participant mark. The number of registered buyers is approaching a record 600 (up 25 per cent from 2010), while the number of programmes and projects listed in the MIPJunior catalog has risen to 1,092. This year’s MIPJunior Kids’ Jury, where a jury of 20 children screen 15 selected programmes and vote for their favourite, has also seen an increase of entries by 30 per cent. Some 118 new programmes were entered into this year’s competition.
