Zuku, the service package from Wananchi Group, today announced it will carry Zee channels across Wananchi’s cable and DTH platforms from now, as part of a drive to increase TV offering. The three year carriage agreement with Zee Network will see three channels – Zee Cinema, Zee Zing and Zee Punjabi, carried across all cable and DTH platforms. The agreement with Zee marks the presence of a big brand in Indian entertainment for Wananchi, reaching out to the substantial Indian community in East Africa. Hannelie Bekker, Managing Director of Wananchi Programming, says, “There is a large population of East Africans of Indian descent, whose entertainment requirements encompass both Hollywood and Bollywood. The agreement with Zee will ensure that Zuku caters for these viewers”.
