Singapore – Universal Networks International (UNI) announced the appointments of David Gunson as vice president of channels for South East Asia and Umeet Shah as chief financial officer for Asia Pacific. The announcement was made by Raymund Miranda, managing director, Asia Pacific, Universal Networks International, to whom Gunson and Shah report. The roles are effective immediately. Based in Singapore, Gunson will lead the optimization of NBCUniversal’s channel brands in the region – Universal Channel, Syfy Universal, DIVA Universal and 13th Street Universal¬ to drive overall growth. Prior to joining UNI, Gunson was head of programming, presentation and adsales at Fox International Channels (FIC) and National Geographic Channel Australia. Shah will be responsible for managing all financial reporting and internal finance processes to deliver operational and growth plans and optimizing NBCUniversal’s pay-TV business in the region. Previously, Shah was executive vice president and chief financial officer of Nimbus Sport International. He also has several years of experience in the assurance practises at global accounting firms, Arthur Andersen (India) and KPMG (Singapore).
