Singapore – Singapore Telecommunications Limited (SingTel) will be the first pay TV operator in Singapore to bring ‘live’ sports programming in 3D to homes in Singapore. On Sunday May 1, all residential mio TV BPL customers with 3D TV sets can tune in to Channel 111 at 9pm to watch Arsenal battle Manchester United in full 3D glory. “In July last year, SingTel held a public screening of the 2010 FIFA World Cup final in 3D. We were also the first to offer 3D movies like Despicable Me on-demand,” said Mr Goh Seow Eng, Chief, Digital Home Group. “This is another major step in realising our ambition to deliver a cutting edge entertainment experience to consumers.” A Premier League spokesperson said, “The popularity of 3D coverage is increasing amongst Barclays Premier League football fans in the UK and we are certain the Singapore fans will enjoy the extra detail and excitement that this new mio TV coverage will bring them.”
