Leading global distributor Off The Fence (OTF) announced sales amounting to over 350 hours to leading Asian broadcasters. The deals were brokered by Fiona Chu, sales manager at OTF Singapore. Taiwanese content acquirer and DVD distributor, Cai Chang has bought over 300 hours of programming from OTF’s catalogue. The range of titles includes Wild Germany (5×60’), Cosmic Vistas (6×30’) and Most Extreme Series One (13×60’). Japanese broadcaster Sfinx has chosen ten more titles from OTF including Hollywood Science (4×60’), China Quake (1×60’), Sharkville (1×60’) and Focused (44×30’). Sfinx is the major content acquirer for Japan and OTF’s long-term partner, purchasing at least 20 hours of OTF content each year. Wuhan TV has bought a 20 hour wildlife and nature package with titles including Sounds of the Seas (1×60’), Zoo Vets (1×60’), Wildest Africa (13×60’), Wild Walk (13×30’) and Wild Germany (5×60’). Wuhan TV has a long-standing relationship with OTF in China, buying more than 50 hours of programming every year. Another important partner in the Pan Pacific region for OTF is Discovery Asia who has recently closed several deals with OTF including The Last Trimate (1×60’), World Wild Vet (10×60’), Off Limits (6×60’) as well as a package deal for Earth Diaries (10×30’), Ice Man (1×60’), Vanishing Planet (2×60’) and History in HD: Shooting Iwo Jima (1×60’). KBS has acquired OTF’s latest production, Asia’s Monarchies (5×60’) which examines the relationship between the people and their rulers, and what the future holds for these monarchies. Off The Fence Singapore was formed in spring 2008 as part of the company’s strategy to expand their finished programme sales in Asia. The launch of the Singapore production office followed the opening of offices in Cape Town and Bristol.
