London – Endemol announced the latest international deal for Jerry Seinfeld’s The Marriage Ref. The commission represents the first partnership between Endemol Asia and Jiangsu Broadcasting Corporation, which has ordered a 52 episode prime time run to air every Thursday and Friday evenings. Each 90 minute show will be known locally as ‘Huan Xi Yuan Jia’ and will air in Mandarin on JiangSu Satellite Channel from late September. In addition to this latest commission in China, broadcasters in Australia and The Middle East snapped up both the format and the US version of The Marriage Ref, while local versions will be produced in Argentina, Israel and Spain. Further deals are expected to be announced soon. The deal with Jiangsu Satellite Channel follows the success of other Endemol productions in China including International King of Sport for Sichuan TV, 1 vs. 100 on Hunan TV, I Love My Country on Sichuan TV and The Best Years of our Lives for Shanghai Media Group’s Dragon TV. Endemol is the exclusive distributor of The Marriage Ref format across all platforms outside of the USA and produce local versions of the show around the world. The Marriage Ref features opinionated celebrities, comedians and sports personalities who will candidly comment, judge and offer different strategies to real-life couples in the midst of a classic marital dispute.
