Singapore – The Asian Food Channel (AFC) will be showcasing its first ever self produced cooking series in high definition featuring AFC’s resident chef and Asia’s most beloved culinary genius Chef Wan. Best Wan which premieres 17 August 2010, is a 10 part series which will be shown exclusively on AFC. A household name in Malaysia, Redzuawan bin Ismail, better known as Chef Wan, has been featured in various cooking programmes on television. The Best Wan original series was shot exclusively by AFC in the AFC penthouse kitchen. The series will feature Chef Wan in his element and celebrate the best of his enticing creations over his twenty-year career as an entertaining TV chef. Chef Wan will demonstrate how to make the most delectable dishes from Frangipane Pineapple Tarts, to Goan inspired Fish Curry, Persimmon Cake and more. Best Wan premiers on AFC, StarHub Channel 435 on 17 August 2010, 9pm. It features three special episodes including a Hari Raya Special which will be shown on 7 September 2010 for a feast of modern Malaysian dishes such as Minang-style Chicken with Coconut Milk, savoury Vegetable Coconut Curry, a hearty Pekan Beef Curry, as well as a sizzling Spicy Red Chicken.
