Taipei – Taiwan Broadband Communications (TBC) has launched a new remote digital video recording feature. TBC is the first operator in Taiwan to launch DVR recording via the mobile phone. The easy-to-use feature allows TBC customers to use their mobile phones to activate the recording function in their home DVRs anytime of day, from anywhere in the world. All subscribers need to do is to send a short message (sms) to TBC’s designated remote recording number with the channel number, recording date, time and duration. Just one simple step, without any additional costs beyond standard sms charges. TBC’s digital service comprises more than 30 additional channels, including three HD channels. It also simulcasts some 70 popular analogue channels on this platform, as well as provides 30 audio channels and a suite of applications including the electronic programme guide, a video mosaic, a weather and almanac portal and TV games.
