Sydney – Nine Network in Australia has ordered the latest twist on the TV dining genre from indie production house Shine, according to a report by C21 Media. “The Boss is Coming to Dinner” is being billed by the network as a “classic nightmare scenario,” with three job candidates taking it in turns to host dinner parties for a prospective boss in place of a traditional office interview. Two of the candidates will then be selected to attend a dinner at the boss’s house before a final judgement and appointment is made. Mark Fennessy, CEO of Shine Australia, said, “It is said that the majority of people are hired for skills and fired for personality. In this compelling and engaging show we cover both. It’s the ultimate nightmare interview – inviting your boss to dinner.” Production is set to begin next month, though no air date has yet been announced.
