Hong Kong – Turner Entertainment announced the appointment of Faridah Turner as senior sales & marketing manager for TurnOut Ventures Limited. Reporting to the general manager of TurnOut Ventures and regional director for Turner Interactive, Benjamin Grubbs, Turner will oversee the brand development and management of the Tuzki franchise, including marketing, promotional licenses and co-marketing partnerships. A popular icon of today’s net generation, Tuzki is a simple black and white line drawing of a bunny with many loud, exaggerated and amusing expressions that first found life as a series of loveable emoticons. The role will also oversee the marketing and communications for massively multiplayer online games (MMOGs) published by TurnOut Ventures, including Ben 10 and Tom & Jerry, and by game publishers that have also licensed MMOGs from TurnOut. Additional responsibilities include developing and managing community marketing for TurnOut products, including online forums, offline events and digital marketing strategies such as search engine marketing, social media, mobile media, and integrated marketing across all Turner platforms. Prior to joining Turner, Turner was group marketing manager at Fluid Group driving the marketing for their individual divisions, internal products and joint ventures as well as working on a consultative basis with clients to develop and maximise marketing strategies. Other positions held included business development director at Lighthouse Independent Media where Turner drove all commercial aspects of the Hong Kong business including advertising sales, marketing and partnerships. Turner was also brand manager-marketing at Funtastic Ltd. in Australia overseeing consumer and trade marketing for one of the country’s largest toy portfolios.
