Hong Kong – Eurosport Asia-Pacific announced today that it has received approval for Eurosportnews, its 24-hour sports news channel, to be the only international sports channel available at this year’s World Expo in Shanghai. More than 190 countries and more than 50 international organisations have registered to participate and China expects to receive almost 100 foreign leaders and millions of people from across the world to come and visit the Expo 2010. 70 million visitors are expected, the largest in history World Expo 2010 will take place from 1 May through to 31 October 2010. For the whole duration of the Expo, Eurosportnews will be part of the TV package available at the Expo and media centre and the designated hotels. Eurosportnews will be the only international sports channel offered, of the nine international channels in the package, including CNN, BBC World, CNBC, MTV (Mandarin), NHK World Premium, KBS World, TV5 and HBO Asia. Eurosportnews provides up-to-date worldwide sports news with live scoring, news bulletins and interviews and is the first dedicated international sports news channel in Asia-Pacific. It was first granted landing rights in China in 2002, and is also available on cable, digital, IP and satellite platforms in 15 countries in the Asia-Pacific region.
