Singapore – StarHub is boosting offerings ahead of its loss of the English Premier League soccer and the ESPN Star Sports channels later this year. Over the Chinese New Year period, from noon on February 13 to midnight on February 15, StarHub TV customers can view more than 100 channels for free, while all viewers will enjoy free previews of Chinese blockbusters on Channel 01 from February 12 to 28. The addition of 3 more Fox International Channels – Fox (channel 132), featuring US TV series; Nat Geo Music (Channel 131); and Korean GE channel tvN (Channel 175) on 1 February 2010 would appear to cement a multi-year deal between FIC and StarHub, that also includes all the National Geographic channels, as well as Fox and Star channel brands. On the Chinese content side, StarHub will add Chinese travel channel, Asia Travel (Channel 104) from February 12. The channels that will be made available to viewers via StarHub’s Preview Channel on a daily rotational basis include STAR CHINESE CHANNEL (Channel 46), CCTV-4 (Channel 47), TVBS-News (Channel 49), CTI TV (Channel 52), TVB8 (Channel 53), TVBS Asia (Channel 54), VV Drama (Channel 55), E City (Channel 56), JET TV (Channel 57), CHANNEL [V] TAIWAN (Channel 102) and TVB Classic Channel (Channel 108). And StarHub just celebrated its TVB Awards, bringing many of Hong Kong’s most popular artistes to Singapore for press events, a gala dinner awards ceremony and public appearances.
