Singapore/Tokyo/Seoul/Beijing – MTV Networks International (MTVNI) announced that Indra Suharjono has been promoted to the newly created position of executive vice president/managing director for MTVN North and Southeast Asia. Suharjono will continue to be based in Singapore and report to Bob Bakish, president MTVNI. In this expanded role, Suharjono will lead the growth, strategic direction and management of MTV Networks Japan and MTV Networks Korea, adding to her existing responsibilities of overseeing MTV Networks Southeast Asia and MTV Networks Greater China. Suharjono joined the company in 2005 as vice president, NVCP, and in February 2008, she was promoted to Head Of Global Publishing and NVCP International. Prior to joining MTV Networks, she was vice president and deputy general manager for Asia Pacific at Turner Entertainment, as well as the general manager for Southeast Asia at Warner Bros. Consumer Products. With this new alignment of responsibilities, Sammy Yoo, managing director of MTV Networks Japan, has decided to leave the company. In the interim, he will work closely with Suharjono to implement the transition to new local leadership.
