Malaysia – National Geographic Channels International (NGCI) launched the latest HD production in Malaysia – Among the Great Apes with Michelle Yeoh in collaboration with the Ministry of Information, Communication and Culture of Malaysia, the National Film Development Corporation of Malaysia (FINAS), ASTRO and Novista Sdn Bhd, a Malaysian filmmaking establishment. Among the Great Apes with Michelle Yeoh tells a moving story about the first encounter of internationally-acclaimed artiste Datuk Michelle Yeoh and her adopted baby Orang Utan – Sen – at the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre in Sabah in its long-standing efforts of rehabilitating Orang Utan orphans back into the wild. Premiered on National Geographic Channel (Astro Channel 553) at 9pm on 9 December 2009, Among the Great Apes with Michelle Yeoh is a one-hour local National Geographic production cementing the ‘Malaysia to the World 2′ (MTTW 2) partnership with FINAS. The partnership aligns with National Geographic’s global initiative of inspiring people to care about the world and the unique cultures we embrace through smart and innovative programming.
