Kuala Lumpur – Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC) and Cisco Systems have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to establish Malaysia as a regional hub for training, certification and development of networking technology operation skills, reports Bernama.com. This initiative is in line with the government’s agenda to provide a strong platform to create and build a highly skilled knowledge-based workforce, MDeC said in a statement. According to Datuk Badlisham Ghazali, CEO of MDeC, the agreement would help to fulfill the existing job market demands by providing the opportunity and environment to support the skill sets and competencies in the industry. As part of the collaboration, Cisco will provide training and development for local partner companies to enable them to offer potentially the complete range of Cisco training programmes and certifications to students throughout the region.
