Asia – FX favorite Mad Men, winner of last year’s Emmy for Outstanding Drama Series, has earned 16 nominations for the 61st Primetime Emmy Awards in 2009 to again top the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences’ strongly contended drama category. The acclaimed show received nods for Outstanding Drama Series, Lead Actor (Jon Hamm), Lead Actress (Elisabeth Moss), Supporting Actor (John Slattery), Writing, Directing and Cinematography, and more. Mad Men depicts the Madison Avenue advertising agencies in the 60s as an all-powerful influence on the public and follows the lives of the ego-driven men and women who will do anything to stay on top of the game. In addition, a selection of FX and FOXCRIME dramas further dominated 13 Emmy nominations. These include FX drama Californication, Saving Grace and animation Family Guy; as well as all-time-favorites Dexter, CSI: NY, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and Burn Notice that have earned widespread acclaim on FOXCRIME in Asia. A new FX introduction Sons of Anarchy which is slated to premiere later this year in Asia also received one Emmy nomination. The 61st Annual Primetime Emmy Awards will be held on 20 September 2009 in Los Angeles, US.
