Mumbai – India has added 0.37 million broadband subscribers in March, bringing the total subscriber base to 6.22 million. Providing the latest figures, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) said India had 5.85 million broadband connections till end of February 2009. India added 15.87 million telephone connections (wireline and wireless) to touch 429.72 million at the end of March. With this, the tele-density has reached 36.98. The wireless subscribers [GSM, CDMA & WLL(F)] base stood at 391.76 million at the end of March. The wireline segment saw an increase of 37.96 million subscribers during March.
