Hong Kong – Turner Broadcasting System Asia Pacific Inc. (Turner) has joined forces with Hong Kong’s leading mobile operator CSL to launch a 24-hour mobile TV channel for Hong Kong. The content will be available on CSL’s 1O1O and one2free brands. “This partnership allows fans of Cartoon Network to be able to experience our content at their convenience. By expanding beyond television screen onto multiple touch-points, Cartoon Network is truly becoming a lifestyle super-brand,” said Ringo Chan, VP, wireless, interactive content development and distribution, Asia Pacific, Turner International Asia Pacific Ltd. Studio on Demand is a personal entertainment channel on a mobile platform that gives customers two choices: ‘Mobile TV’ which provides 15 HD real-time television channels, ranging from news, entertainment and sports, and ‘Video On Demand’ which provides seven categories of full-length HD content such as music, documentaries, movies and Korean/Taiwanese dramas. The service has a DVD-like user interface, allowing users to pause, rewind, forward or resume play from the last stopped position. The 24-hour Cartoon Network mobile channel will be available to all 1O1O and one2free subscribers in Hong Kong and will be 100 percent commercial free.
